Sometimes, women work so hard and take care of so many others that they forget to take care of themselves. This can add up to extra stress. Over time, extra stress can lead to physical discomforts and negative moods. Managing stress can help you stay strong and continue on your smokefree journey.
Try one or more of these ways to DE-STRESS:
Develop new methods to cope. For example, instead of taking a smoke break, think about taking a walk break. 4 Ways to Relax offers more tips.
Exercise regularly. Exercise releases feel-good hormones that can help you stay calm.
Sing, dance, or listen to energetic music. This can be a great way to blow off some steam and boost your mood.
Train yourself to know when you’re stressed and how stress affects you. Sometimes, just acknowledging the situation and your feelings can make them less intense.
Re-charge by getting a good night’s sleep.
valuate where your stress is coming from. You can take some pressure off yourself if you decide which of your “To DOs” are actually “Must DOs.” Maybe think about dropping some of the “Should DOs.”
Single-task. Focus on only one thing at a time. You can become more efficient and feel less overwhelmed.
