QuitSTART App

QuitSTART App is a free smartphone app, available for iOS Exit disclaimer and Android Exit disclaimer , that can help you track your cravings and moods, monitor your progress toward achieving smokefree milestones, identify your smoking triggers, and upload personalized “pick me ups” and reminders to use during challenging times to help you successfully become and stay smokefree.

QuitSTART App provides tips to use during cravings. Use these tips to help you manage your mood and stay smokefree. To get more tips and support, you can also follow, “like”, or share @SmokefreeTeen Exit disclaimer and Smokefree Teen Facebook page Exit disclaimer.

QuitSTART App is a product of Smokefree Teen (SfT)—a smoking cessation resource for teens created by the Tobacco Control Research Branch at the National Cancer Institute in collaboration with tobacco control professionals and smoking cessation experts and with input from ex-smokers.

Now Available!

About the QuitGuide App

The QuitGuide is a free application developed by MMG, Inc., for the Tobacco Control Research Branch of the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Written by tobacco control professionals and cessation counselors, with the help of ex-smokers and experts, this app is designed to help you prepare to quit smoking and support you in the days and weeks after you quit.

The app allows you to search for content using keywords, save specific pages as favorites, and share information you are reading via Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail. It also provides insight into what to expect when you quit, and how to deal with problems that may come up in your journey to be smokefree.

Being prepared, having information at the ready, and staying connected to a larger online community can help get you through the hard times.

About the QuitPal App

NCI QuitPal is a free smartphone app to support smokers working to become smoke-free. This interactive app is developed using proven quit strategies and tools to help change behavior and assist you with giving up smoking.

NCI QuitPal’s features:

  • Set a quit date, financial goals, and reminders
  • Track daily smoking habits with an easy-to-use calendar
  • See graphs tracking money saved and number of packs not smoked
  • Receive health milestones and craving tips to stay motivated
  • Connect with social networks to give milestone updates
  • Create a video diary, and watch personalized video messages from loved ones
  • Access NCI’s Cancer Information Service by toll-free phone line or live chat


NCI QuitPal was developed by the National Cancer Institute using the latest evidence-based smoking cessation methods and behavior change theory.
