Get your heart pumping with cardiovascular activities:

Get started with moderate activities (30 minutes, 5 or more days/week)

  • Try taking a brisk walk-aim for 1 mile in 15 minutes or 100 steps/minute

  • Bike riding at 10 to 12 mph

  • Mix it up with some ballroom dancing or line dancing!

Try vigorous-intensity activities (20 minutes or more, 3 days/week)

  • Try aerobic dancing or zumba

  • Race walking, jogging, or running

  • Bike riding faster than 10 to 12 mph

  • Go hiking uphill (don’t forget your backpack) or climb the stairs
